Edward Burns is an American actor, writer, and director. He was born on January 29, 1968, in Woodside, Queens, New York City. Burns began his career in the film industry in the mid-1990s, with his debut film “The Brothers McMullen” (1995), which he wrote, directed, and starred in. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and launched Burns’ career as a filmmaker. He has since directed and acted in several films, including “She’s the One” (1996), “Sidewalks of New York” (2001), and “The Fitzgerald Family Christmas” (2012). Burns is known for his independent filmmaking style and his focus on character-driven stories.
