    Curtis Hanson was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on March 24, 1945, in Reno, Nevada, and passed away on September 20, 2016, in Los Angeles, California. Hanson directed several critically acclaimed films, including “L.A. Confidential,” “Wonder Boys,” and “8 Mile.” He won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for “L.A. Confidential” in 1998. Hanson was known for his ability to bring complex characters to life on screen and for his attention to detail in his filmmaking.
