Corneliu Porumboiu is a Romanian film director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on September 14, 1975, in Vaslui, Romania. Porumboiu studied film directing at the National University of Drama and Film in Bucharest. He gained international recognition for his feature film “12:08 East of Bucharest,” which won the Camera d’Or prize at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. Porumboiu’s other notable films include “Police, Adjective,” “The Treasure,” and “Infinite Football.” He is known for his minimalist style and his exploration of themes related to Romanian society and politics.
