McDonald began his career in the 1980s with the film “Roadkill” and has since directed numerous films, including “Hard Core Logo,” “The Tracey Fragments,” and “Pontypool.” He has also directed episodes of popular television shows such as “Queer as Folk” and “Degrassi: The Next Generation.” McDonald has won several awards for his work, including the Genie Award for Best Achievement in Direction for “Hard Core Logo.”
