De Palma began his career in the 1960s making experimental films before transitioning to mainstream Hollywood movies in the 1970s. He is best known for directing films such as “Carrie,” “Scarface,” and “The Untouchables.” De Palma’s films often feature themes of violence, voyeurism, and sexuality. He has been nominated for numerous awards throughout his career, including several Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations.
