Billy Bob Thornton is an American actor, filmmaker, and musician. He was born on August 4, 1955, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Thornton began his career as a musician before transitioning to acting in the 1980s. He gained critical acclaim for his role in the 1996 film “Sling Blade,” which he wrote, directed, and starred in. Thornton has also directed several other films, including “All the Pretty Horses” and “Jayne Mansfield’s Car.” He has won numerous awards for his work, including an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for “Sling Blade.” Thornton continues to act and direct in film and television.
