Benh Zeitlin is an American film director, screenwriter, and composer. He is best known for his debut feature film, “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 and went on to receive four Academy Award nominations, including Best Director. Zeitlin was born in New York City in 1982 and studied film at Wesleyan University. He is also the co-founder of the Court 13 collective, a group of filmmakers based in New Orleans.
