    Well, let’s just say Basil Dearden’s ROI is so low, it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack…if the haystack was made up of 1,999 other directors with better ROI. And with a status of F-List, it’s safe to say he won’t be making any blockbuster hits anytime soon. Sorry, Basil.

    Basil Dearden was a British film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on January 1, 1911, in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England, and died on March 23, 1971, in Sunningdale, Berkshire, England. Dearden directed over 30 films during his career, including notable works such as “The Blue Lamp,” “Victim,” and “Sapphire.” He was known for his socially conscious films that tackled issues such as racism, homophobia, and police corruption. Dearden was also a member of the British film industry’s Ealing Studios, where he directed many of his most famous films.
