Philip Kennicott is an American film critic and cultural commentator. He is the chief art and architecture critic for The Washington Post and a contributing editor for The New Republic. He has written extensively on film, art, architecture, and culture for The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and other publications. He is the author of two books, The Art of Looking: How to Read Modern and Contemporary Art and The Fabric of Life: A Critic’s Reflections on Art, Architecture, and Design. He has won numerous awards for his writing, including the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism in 2013.
