Otis Ferguson (1904-1941) was an American film critic and journalist who wrote for The New Republic and The New Yorker. He was known for his witty and insightful reviews, which often focused on the technical aspects of filmmaking. He was an early champion of the films of John Ford, Howard Hawks, and Ernst Lubitsch, and his writing helped to shape the critical discourse of the 1930s. He died at the age of 37 in 1941.
