Mae Tinee (1880-1966) was an American film critic and journalist. She was the first African-American woman to become a film critic, writing for the Chicago Daily News from 1919 to 1962. She was known for her witty and insightful reviews, and was a champion of independent and foreign films. She was also a strong advocate for civil rights and social justice.
