    Jay Cocks is an American film critic and screenwriter. He is best known for his work as a film critic for Time magazine from 1970 to 2000, and for his screenwriting collaborations with director Martin Scorsese on films such as Gangs of New York and The Age of Innocence. He has also written for publications such as The New Yorker and The New York Times.
