Charles Champlin was an American film critic, journalist, author, and educator. He was the film critic for the Los Angeles Times from 1968 to 1991, and was the author of several books on film and television. He was also a professor of film and television at the University of Southern California and a visiting professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. He was a member of the National Society of Film Critics and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. He was awarded the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Career Achievement Award in 1991.
