Arthur Penn (1922-2010) was an American film and theater director. He is best known for directing the groundbreaking film “Bonnie and Clyde” (1967), which was a critical and commercial success and helped usher in a new era of American cinema. Penn also directed other notable films such as “The Miracle Worker” (1962), “Little Big Man” (1970), and “Night Moves” (1975). He was known for his innovative and unconventional approach to filmmaking, and his work often explored themes of violence, social justice, and the human condition. Penn was a recipient of numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including several Tony Awards and an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.
