Walter Huston was an American actor, singer, and director. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948). He was also nominated for his roles in Dodsworth (1936) and The Devil and Daniel Webster (1941). He was the father of director John Huston and grandfather of actress Anjelica Huston. He was known for his versatility and range, appearing in a variety of genres, including westerns, comedies, dramas, and musicals. He died in 1950 at the age of 67.
