Vertamae Grosvenor was an American author, chef, anthropologist, and actor. She was best known for her books Vibration Cooking: or, The Travel Notes of a Geechee Girl and Seasonings: A Savor of the Lowcountry. She was also a frequent contributor to National Public Radio and appeared in the film Daughters of the Dust. Grosvenor was a pioneering figure in the field of African-American foodways and culture. She passed away in 2016.
