Well, Ray Bolger may not be in the top 1%, but at least he’s not in the bottom 99% either. And hey, being ranked 171 out of nearly 9,000 actors is nothing to sneeze at. I’d say he’s definitely A-List in our hearts.
Ray Bolger (1904-1987) was an American actor, singer, and dancer best known for his role as the Scarecrow in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. He began his career as a vaudeville performer in the 1920s and went on to appear in numerous Broadway musicals, including Where’s Charley? and The Music Man. He also starred in several films, including Babes in Arms and The Great Ziegfeld. Bolger was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in The Great Ziegfeld and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1981.
