Nesuhi Ertegun was a Turkish-American record producer and executive who was a major figure in the music industry. He was a co-founder of Atlantic Records and was responsible for signing and producing some of the most influential artists of the 20th century, including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Led Zeppelin, and the Rolling Stones. He was also a passionate jazz enthusiast and was instrumental in the development of jazz in the United States. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
