Mark Hogancamp is an American artist and photographer best known for his work in the documentary Marwencol. After being brutally attacked outside a bar in 2000, Hogancamp was left with severe memory loss and physical disabilities. To cope with his trauma, he created a fictional World War II-era town called Marwencol in his backyard, populated with dolls representing himself and his friends. His work was featured in the 2010 documentary Marwencol, which won numerous awards and was nominated for an Academy Award. Hogancamp continues to create art and photography, and his work has been featured in galleries and publications around the world.
