Leonide Massine (1895-1979) was a Russian-born dancer, choreographer, and ballet director. He is best known for his work with Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, where he created some of the most iconic ballets of the 20th century, including Parade, Le Tricorne, and The Three-Cornered Hat. He was also a prolific choreographer, creating works for the Royal Ballet, the Paris Opera Ballet, and the New York City Ballet. Massine was a major influence on modern ballet, and his works are still performed today.
