Jack Albertson was an American actor, comedian, dancer, and singer who had a career spanning nearly six decades. He is best known for his role as Ed Brown on the television series Chico and the Man, for which he won an Emmy Award in 1975, and for his role as Grandpa Joe in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. He also appeared in numerous films, including The Poseidon Adventure, The Flim-Flam Man, and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Albertson died in 1981 at the age of 73.
