    Bio:

    Ivan Dixon was an American actor, director, and producer best known for his role as Sergeant James Kinchloe in the 1960s television series Hogan’s Heroes. He was also a civil rights activist and a founding member of the Negro Ensemble Company. Dixon was born in New York City in 1931 and attended the High School of Industrial Arts. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and then began his career in entertainment. He appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout his career, including The Great White Hope, The Final Comedown, and The Spook Who Sat by the Door. He also directed several films and television shows, including The Final Comedown, The Spook Who Sat by the Door, and the television series Room 222. Dixon passed away in 2008 at the age of 76.
