Heathcote Williams (1945-2017) was an English poet, actor, and playwright. He was best known for his work in the theatre, including his one-man show, “The Local Stigmatic,” which he wrote and performed in the 1970s. He also wrote several books of poetry, including “Autogeddon” and “Sacred Elephants,” and acted in films such as “The Remains of the Day” and “The Madness of King George.” He was a passionate environmentalist and a vocal critic of the British government.
