    Bio:

    Gladys George (1899-1954) was an American stage and film actress. She began her career on the stage in the 1920s, and made her film debut in 1929. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Valiant is the Word for Carrie (1936). She is best remembered for her roles in The Roaring Twenties (1939) and The Maltese Falcon (1941). She was married to actor Richard Barthelmess from 1927 until their divorce in 1934.
