    Bio:

    Francois Truffaut (1932-1984) was a French film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, and film critic. He is widely regarded as one of the founders of the French New Wave movement in cinema. He directed films such as The 400 Blows, Jules and Jim, and Day for Night, all of which were critically acclaimed. He was also a prolific screenwriter, writing scripts for films such as Shoot the Piano Player and Stolen Kisses. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for Day for Night. He was also a film critic, writing for the influential French film magazine Cahiers du Cinema.
