Dorothy Lamour was an American actress and singer. She is best remembered for her roles in the Road to… movies, a series of successful comedies starring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. She began her career as a big band singer in the 1930s, and later appeared in numerous films, television shows, and stage productions. Lamour was also a successful recording artist, with hits such as “Moonlight and Shadows” and “I’m in the Mood for Love”. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in The Hurricane (1937). Lamour died in 1996 at the age of 81.
