Danai Gurira is a Zimbabwean-American actress, playwright, and activist. She is best known for her role as Michonne on the AMC television series The Walking Dead. She has also appeared in films such as Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and All Eyez on Me. Gurira is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Play for her play Eclipsed. She is also a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and a co-founder of Almasi Arts Alliance, which works to empower African artists.
