Chase Strangio is an American civil rights attorney and transgender activist. Strangio is a Deputy Director for Transgender Justice with the American Civil Liberties Union’s LGBT & HIV Project. Strangio has been involved in numerous landmark cases, including the Supreme Court case Bostock v. Clayton County, which established that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects LGBTQ+ people from discrimination in the workplace. Strangio has also been a vocal advocate for transgender rights, speaking out against the Trump administration’s attempts to roll back protections for transgender people.
