Charles Amirkhanian is an American composer, sound artist, and radio producer. He is best known for his work in electroacoustic music, text-sound composition, and performance art. He has composed over 100 works, including the Grammy-nominated “Armenian Bird Songs” and “Music from the Garden of Forking Paths”. He has also produced numerous radio programs for National Public Radio, including the long-running “Music from the Hearts of Space” and “New American Radio”. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Guggenheim Fellowship, the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award, and the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
