Emad Burnat is a Palestinian documentary filmmaker and human rights activist. He is best known for his Academy Award-nominated documentary 5 Broken Cameras, which chronicles his experience of living in the West Bank village of Bil’in and the nonviolent resistance movement against the Israeli occupation. He has also directed several other documentaries, including The Gatekeepers, which focuses on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and The Wanted 18, which tells the story of a group of Palestinians who purchased a herd of cows to produce their own milk. Burnat has received numerous awards for his work, including the Cinema for Peace International Green Film Award and the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award.
