It can be frustratingly uneven, but strong performances from a talented cast help Spoiler Alert stay on the right side of saccharine.
“Spoiler Alert” has its ups and downs, but the strong acting from the cast makes it enjoyable and keeps it from becoming too sweet.

The Secret of Roan Inish (1995)
RT Audience Score: 87%
Awards & Nominations: NA
The Secret of Roan Inish is a gentle fairy tale filled with optimism that’s suitable for the whole family.
The Secret of Roan Inish” is a charming and mystical tale that will transport you to the beautiful landscapes of Ireland. While some critics found it a bit slow-paced, I found it to be a perfect movie to watch on a cozy night in. The story of a young girl searching for her family’s lost connection to the sea and the magical creatures that inhabit it is heartwarming and captivating. The cinematography is breathtaking, and the folklore elements add a touch of enchantment to the film. Overall, “The Secret of Roan Inish” is a must-watch for anyone who loves a good fairy tale with a touch of Irish heritage.

She soon learns the local legend that an ancestor of hers married a Selkie – a seal who can turn into a human. A brutal, relentlessly grimy shocker with taut performances, slick gore effects, and a haunting finale.
Seven is a movie that will make you want to sleep with the lights on for a week. It’s not for the faint of heart, but if you can stomach the gruesome details, it’s a disturbing and suspenseful trip to the dark side. David Fincher’s directing prowess is on full display, and Morgan Freeman’s performance as a retiring policeman is a standout. The plot may be gimmicky, but it’s still a pretty involving murder mystery. Just don’t watch it alone in the dark.

Naked, the 1993 film by Mike Leigh, is a masterpiece of virtuoso nihilism and biting wit. David Thewlis delivers a tour de force performance as Johnny, an antihero raging against the close of a century and the end of a millennium. Leigh’s direction is total conviction, brilliantly capturing the parable of spiritual homelessness and the terror it engenders. The film is a revelation, with moments of tenderness and compassion spearing the murk of Johnny’s half-baked ideas and hand-me-down theology. It’s a movie that shakes you up, changes your vision, and leaves you feeling like you need a drink and a shower, but at least you know you’ve been somewhere new.
If you’re looking for a movie that will make you feel like you need a shower and a stiff drink, then Naked is the film for you! Mike Leigh’s masterpiece is a tour de force of brutal impact, withering wit, and humanity. David Thewlis gives the greatest performance of his career as Johnny, an antihero raging into the close of a century, and the end of the millennium. It’s a parable of spiritual homelessness and the terror it engenders, but there are also moments of tenderness and compassion spearing the murk. And let’s not forget the bitingly, appallingly funny moments that will have you laughing through the tears. So grab some friends, watch Naked, and then stay up late talking about it. It’s a movie that will shake you up and change your vision.

Well cast and sharply directed, Fresh serves as an attention-getting calling card for writer-director Boaz Yakin as well as a gripping urban drama.
Fresh is like a chess game, but instead of moving pieces on a board, the characters are moving through the dangerous streets of New York City. Sean Nelson’s performance as Fresh is a standout, showing a level of intelligence and strategy that is both impressive and heartbreaking. The film doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities of inner-city life, but it also doesn’t rely on gratuitous violence to make its point. Overall, Fresh is a gripping and thought-provoking film that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the game of chess and the resilience of the human spirit.
