Critics Consensus

Brett Morgan’s half-animated, half-documentary film is an arresting, sometimes visionary portrait of the historic and chaotic trial

Audience Consensus

Chicago 10 is like a history lesson, but with a cool and edgy twist. It’s like the teacher who shows up in a leather jacket and sunglasses, making you actually interested in what they have to say. The documentary captures the spirit of the times without getting lost in the chaos, and the use of real footage makes it all the more compelling. It’s definitely worth a watch, even if you’re not usually into history stuff. Plus, who doesn’t love a good courtroom drama?

Snabba Cash (Easy Money) cuts a cube of Nordic noir whose taut storytelling packs an extra dose of hard-hitting heft

Audience Consensus

Easy Money” is a thrilling heist movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. While some critics found the plot to be a bit muddled and overlong, I found it to be a fun and exciting ride. The multicultural cast adds a unique flavor to the film, and the tense sequences will have you holding your breath. Plus, the original title “Snabba Cash” is way cooler than the English one. Overall, “Easy Money” is a solid thriller that’s definitely worth a watch.

Critics Consensus

With its hyper-stylized blend of violence, music, and striking imagery, Drive represents a fully realized vision of arthouse action

Audience Consensus

Drive is the kind of movie that makes you want to rev your engine and speed off into the sunset. With Ryan Gosling at the wheel, it’s impossible not to feel a rush of adrenaline as he navigates the streets of LA. Sure, it’s violent and a bit over-the-top at times, but that’s all part of the fun. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good car chase? So buckle up and get ready for a wild ride.

Led by a mesmerizing debut performance from Elizabeth Olsen, Martha Marcy May Marlene is a distinctive, haunting psychological drama

Audience Consensus

Martha Marcy May Marlene is a film that will leave you feeling like you need a hug and a stiff drink. With a cast of exceptional actors, including Elizabeth Olsen and John Hawkes, this movie takes you on a journey through the mind of a young woman who has escaped a cult. The flashbacks are haunting, and the tension builds until the very end. It’s not a movie for everyone, but if you’re in the mood for a psychological thriller that will make you question everything, then this is the film for you. Just make sure you have that drink ready when the credits roll.

Critics Consensus

Smart, tightly wound, and solidly acted, Margin Call turns the convoluted financial meltdown of ’08 into gripping, thought-provoking drama

Audience Consensus

Margin Call may not be the most exciting movie out there, but it definitely hits close to home for anyone who’s ever worked in an office. The characters are all too familiar, from the cutthroat bosses to the overworked underlings. And let’s not forget Kevin Spacey, who steals the show as a corporate dirtbag with surprising depth. Sure, it’s a bit talky, but the dialogue is so good you won’t even notice. All in all, Margin Call is a smart and well-told story about the dark side of the business world.

Critics Consensus

It struggles with the balance between fact-based biopic and taut political thriller, but Fair Game brims with righteous anger — and benefits from superb performances by Naomi Watts and Sean Penn

Audience Consensus

Fair Game is like a game of telephone – the message gets lost somewhere along the way. While the performances by Naomi Watts and Sean Penn are solid, the scattered storyline and lack of clear direction make it hard to fully connect with the film. It’s not a terrible movie, but it’s not a home run either. Maybe it’s more like a bunt – it gets the job done, but it’s not exactly exciting.

Thanks to the eyes of [Doug] Liman’s lens and powerful performances by [Naomi] Watts and [Sean] Penn, with Fair Game we are given truth amidst psychological political intrigue. An undeniable winning combination.

Director Doug Liman does a good job of letting the story speak for itself, sparing the audience from too much soap-boxing. Watts and Penn are both solid, although Penn’s performance does border on over-the-top in a couple of key scenes.

Critics Consensus

It isn’t deep or groundbreaking, but what it lacks in profundity, Puss in Boots more than makes up for with an abundance of wit, visual sparkle, and effervescent charm

Audience Consensus

Puss in Boots is the ultimate cat-tastic adventure that will have you purring with delight. With a witty script and charming story, this movie is far more than just a spin-off from Shrek. The animation is top-notch, and the fairytale elements blended with a spaghetti western twist make for a fun and outrageous ride. And let’s not forget the star power of Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas, who make cartoon cats look oh-so-sexy together. So grab your boots and get ready to join the myth, the legend, the cat himself in this purr-fectly meowtastic film.

Puss in Boots kind of surprised me. Far more witty then I expected it to be, nicely animated and featuring a charming story of forgiveness and redemption that belies its Shrek inspired fractured fairy tale roots, this movie more than won me over.

Critics Consensus

It owes a huge debt to older (and better) teen comedies, but Easy A proves a smart, witty showcase for its irresistibly charming star, Emma Stone

Audience Consensus

Easy A is like a breath of fresh air in the teen comedy genre. It’s not going to be a classic like some of the greats, but it’s still a fun and sassy movie that will make you laugh. Emma Stone shines in her role and it’s easy to see why this could have been a star-making performance for her. The script is smart and full of witty dialogue that will have you quoting it for days. It’s a great movie to watch with friends and just enjoy the ride. So, give it an A- or a B+, but just make sure you give it a chance.

Audience Consensus

Get Low” is a movie that’s as sweet as a Georgia peach pie, but won’t give you a sugar coma. With a cast that includes Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, and Bill Murray, you know you’re in for a treat. Sure, it may be a bit slow at times, but it’s worth it to see Duvall’s irascible character come to life. And if you’re a fan of Southern charm and kitsch, you’ll love this movie like a good ol’ glass of sweet tea on a hot summer day. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Y’all won’t regret it.
