Moving On (2023)
RT Audience Score: 70%
Awards & Nominations: NA
Moving On, the latest film starring the dynamic duo of Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, may not be a cinematic masterpiece, but it certainly delivers on laughs and heart. The film explores the challenges of aging with humor and grace, and Fonda and Tomlin’s chemistry is as strong as ever. While the pacing may stumble at times, the film’s winning cast and poignant themes make it a worthwhile watch. Moving On proves that even as we age, there’s always room for growth, adventure, and a good laugh.
Moving On may not be the next Oscar winner, but it’s definitely worth a watch for the dynamic duo of Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The film has its ups and downs, but the chemistry between the two leads is undeniable. It’s like watching your favorite aunt and grandma bicker and banter, but with a little more cursing. Plus, who doesn’t love a good revenge comedy? Moving On may not be groundbreaking, but it’s a fun and entertaining ride.

Boston Strangler (2023)
RT Audience Score: 76%
Awards & Nominations: NA
Boston Strangler is a film that attempts to capture the essence of old-school journalism and the struggles of women in a male-dominated industry. While the performances by Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon are commendable, the film falls short in building suspense and momentum. The reliance on a brooding soundtrack and a shot-through-a-dirty-fishtank look ultimately detracts from the strong performances and accurate rendering of mid-century gender inequality. However, the film does push the audience to question the reliability of its narration, making it a worthwhile addition to the true crime genre. Overall, Boston Strangler is a decent effort, but it fails to reach the heights of other films in the genre such as Spotlight or Zodiac.
Boston Strangler is a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, but not because of the suspense. Rather, it’s because you’ll be constantly adjusting your glasses to see through the dirty fishtank look that the filmmakers seem to love so much. However, the performances by Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon are top-notch, and it’s worth watching just to see them kick butt in a male-dominated world. Plus, it’s always fun to question who the narration is coming from, right? Overall, it’s a decent addition to the true crime genre, but don’t expect it to be the next Spotlight or Zodiac.

Nefarious (2023)
RT Audience Score: 96%
Awards & Nominations: NA
Nefarious, the latest faith-based thriller, has received mixed reviews from critics. While some have praised the film’s production values and character-based approach, others have criticized its heavy-handed and preachy message. One critic even went so far as to call it a “Christo-fascist manifesto.” Despite its flaws, Nefarious is an interesting addition to the possession genre, and its confident filmmaking may appeal to some viewers. However, those looking for subtle scares or nuanced storytelling may want to look elsewhere. Overall, Nefarious is a film that will likely divide audiences, but it’s worth checking out for those who enjoy a good theological debate.
Nefarious is a movie that tries to be a possession thriller but ends up being a preachy Christian propaganda piece. The heavy-handed message about abortion, euthanasia, and the death penalty is enough to make you want to run out of the theater screaming. The only thing missing from this Christo-fascist manifesto is a sermon on guns. The acting and production values are decent, but the ending falls apart with a clichéd climax and an injudicious epilogue. If you’re looking for cinematic horror, you won’t find it here unless you’re talking about one of those evangelical haunted houses where demons pop out of the walls to warn of the evils of the world. Overall, Nefarious is a movie that’s best left to the preachy side of things.

Something in the Dirt reaffirms Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as sci-fi storytellers with a distinctive — and darkly alluring — vision.
If you’re looking for a sci-fi flick that’ll make you feel like you’re on a wild ride through the unknown, then Something in the Dirt is the movie for you. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have done it again, proving that they’re the kings of sci-fi storytelling. Their vision is so unique and darkly alluring that you won’t be able to look away from the screen.
From the very first scene, you’ll be hooked. The tension builds and builds until you’re on the edge of your seat, wondering what’s going to happen next. And let me tell you, what happens next is wild. I won’t spoil anything, but let’s just say that you won’t be disappointed.
The special effects are top-notch, too. You’ll feel like you’re right there in the middle of the action, dodging lasers and explosions left and right. And the soundtrack? Don’t even get me started. It’s so good that you’ll want to download it as soon as the credits roll.
Overall, Something in the Dirt is a must-see for any sci-fi fan. It’s got everything you could want in a movie: action, suspense, and a killer storyline. So grab some popcorn, sit back, and get ready for a wild ride. You won’t regret it.

As a rule, forensics analysts don’t just plug digital media straight into their computer. For one, it becomes inadmissible in court since it can argued maybe the cops put incriminating evidence on the drive. The other thing is it might trigger a logic bomb which is exactly what happens when Gordon pulls up the pictures on the “thumb” drive. In reality, the drive would go to the lab and be imaged for a copy that would then be looked through. A detective as seasoned as Gordon would know better.

The Personal History of David Copperfield (2020)

The Personal History of David Copperfield puts a fresh, funny, and utterly charming spin on Dickens’ classic, proving some stories truly are timeless
The Personal History of David Copperfield is a mad, loving, and brilliantly cinematic adaptation of the classic novel. Dev Patel carries the ensemble with great flair, looking every inch the boy who has fallen upon hard times and longs to be recognized as the gentleman he is. The film’s Victorian backdrop gives rise to a pressing look at class, poverty, and identity, albeit through a spirited and modern lens. It’s a still Victorian era-set yet unmistakably modern – and fresh, very funny and sharp-witted – big-screen adaptation. Plus, who doesn’t love great hair? Patel’s Copperfield is sturdy, kind, charismatic, and filled with a childlike curiosity and wonder even into adulthood. Overall, it’s a convivial take on Dickens, adding life, color, and exhilaration to a literary classic that deserves such treatment.

Too Late to Die Young uses one family’s experiences as the foundation for a dreamily absorbing drama with a poignant, lingering warmth
Too Late to Die Young is like a Polaroid picture that’s been left out in the sun too long – hazy, nostalgic, and a little bit dreamy. It’s a coming-of-age story set in Chile that doesn’t rely on plot, but instead focuses on the emotional turmoil of its characters. While some critics found the characters to be bland and lacking nuance, I found them to be perfectly lovely in their imperfections. It’s a mood movie that’s perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon when you just want to get lost in a dreamy world.

A Secret is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get. Some critics loved it, some hated it, and some were just meh about it. But one thing is for sure, the acting is top-notch and the story is complex. It’s like a puzzle that you have to put together, but instead of a picture, you get a family drama spanning over half a century. It’s such a handsomely mounted and well-acted piece that few serious cinema-goers are likely to mind the circuitous path it takes in getting there.
