    Bio:

    Sol C. Siegel was an American film producer and studio executive who worked in Hollywood from the 1930s to the 1950s. He was best known for producing such classic films as The Wizard of Oz (1939), The Philadelphia Story (1940), and The Jolson Story (1946). He was also a key figure in the development of the musical genre, producing such films as The Harvey Girls (1946) and Easter Parade (1948). Siegel was a pioneer in the use of Technicolor and was a major force in the development of the Hollywood studio system. He died in 1957 at the age of 57.
