Bio:

Lila Avilés is a Mexican filmmaker and producer. She is best known for her debut feature film, The Chambermaid, which won the Silver Bear at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival. She has also produced several short films, including The Return, which won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. Avilés is a passionate advocate for female filmmakers and has been a vocal supporter of the #MeToo movement. She is currently working on her next feature film, which is set to be released in 2021.
