Jonathan T. Taplin is an American media producer, author, and professor. He is the founder and director emeritus of the USC Annenberg Innovation Lab and a professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Taplin has produced films such as Mean Streets, The Last Waltz, and To Die For, and has written books such as Move Fast and Break Things: How Facebook, Google, and Amazon Cornered Culture and Threatened Democracy and The Magic Years: Scenes from a Rock and Roll Life. He is a recipient of the Peabody Award and the National Emmy Award.
