Welcome To Leith (2015)
RT Audience Score: 75%
Awards & Nominations: 7 wins & 8 nominations
As disturbing as it is thought-provoking, Welcome to Leith offers an uncomfortable — and essential — glimpse into a part of society many Americans would much rather ignore
Welcome to Leith is like a horror movie, but instead of a haunted house, it’s a whole town that’s terrifying. The documentary does a great job of showing the rise of a white supremacist in a small North Dakota town and the fear and tension that follows. It’s a must-watch for anyone interested in true crime or just wants to be scared out of their wits. Just make sure to watch it with the lights on!

Hand it to directors Michael Beach Nichols and Christopher K. Walker, who could have made the story into a black-hat/white-hat affair.

Welcome to Leith doesn’t really delve too deep into some of the topics it brings up, but its transformation of Leith’s storyline into a tense, efficient narrative provides plenty of engrossing material.

A disturbing tale that lacks information. Welcome to Leith feels vague as the documentary that should have told an extraordinary story. [Full review in Spanish].

Some of the images seek for a closure that just isn’t there… Given recent docs that have gone for the long haul, one wonders whether Walker might have been advised to have stuck around a little longer.
