Road Trip (2000)
RT Audience Score: 65%
Awards & Nominations: 4 wins & 9 nominations
Some humor is hit or miss, depending on the audience tastes, but the movie is funny overall. Mixed reviews for the cast, especially for MTV’s Tom Green
Road Trip” is a movie that’s perfect for teens who love a good laugh, but parents might want to cover their ears at some of the vulgar jokes. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s definitely a cut above the typical gross-out college comedies. The characters may not be the most well-developed, but the humor is immature comic bliss. It’s no “Animal House,” but it’s still a fun ride. Just make sure to buckle up and keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times.

The movie takes a slice out of the American Pie recipe book by at least making the final screen product funnier than the trailer.

Road Trip is broadly amusing with a few bright spots. But those can’t cover up the major gaps in storytelling, characterization and laughs.

It’s no masterpiece, you understand, but it doesn’t count on the raging hormones of its audience to do all of its work.

Road Trip is very much of its time and place and doesn’t nearly have the same cultural footprint of the film it so desperately wishes to be.
