Critics Consensus

Point Blank, a film that shares a title with a 1967 masterpiece, proves to be a cool and invigorating exception to the formulaic American action flick. With a swirl of action and information punctuated by glorious chase scenes, this lean and mean 84-minute thriller is a riveting and frequently electrifying ride. The film moves so fast and furiously that you’ll forget you’re reading subtitles altogether, leaving you gasping for air. While it may not be exceptionally clever or original, Point Blank is pure force from up close and a standout secret of the year that’s loads of fun.

Audience Consensus

Point Blank” may share a title with a classic film, but don’t let that fool you – this action-packed thriller is a whole different beast. Critics are raving about the relentless pace, glorious chase scenes, and pure force from up close. Sure, it may not be the most clever or original movie out there, but who needs that when you’re having loads of fun? Plus, it’s so fast and furious that you’ll forget you’re even reading subtitles. So grab some popcorn, buckle up, and get ready to gasp for air – “Point Blank” is one wild ride you won’t want to miss.

Point Blank is saddled with the same title as John Boorman’s 1967 masterpiece, but the only thing the two films really have in common is coolness.

You’re going to have to track “Point Blank” down, but if you’re looking for a real slice of what the thriller cinema perpetually promises and so rarely delivers — pure force from up close — it’s one of the standout secrets of the year.

Put aside any hang-ups you may have about subtitles. As action flicks go, “Point Blank” is right on target.

The American action flick is a genre that will never die. But it’s hard to make one that seems fresh, as filmmakers seem to stick to a winning formula. Point Blank is an invigorating exception.

[Writers] Cavay and Lemans…dump all manner of double-dealing and good cop-bad cop intrigue into what could have been a wonderfully streamlined, character-driven thriller about an innocent man forced to do the bidding of criminals to save his family.

It moves so fast and furiously that you will forget you are reading subtitles altogether. This is one fantastic mainstream action movie that is so manic it may leave you gasping for air.
