Diamonds are Forever is a largely derivative affair, but it’s still pretty entertaining nonetheless, thanks to great stunts, witty dialogue, and the presence of Sean Connery
Diamonds Are Forever is like a rollercoaster ride – it’s not always logical, but it’s a wild and fun experience. Sean Connery’s return as Bond is a treat, and the film delivers on the classic Bond formula of gadgets, beautiful women, and over-the-top action. Sure, it may not be the most critically acclaimed entry in the series, but who cares when you’re having this much fun? Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

Bond looks better than ever, partly because Sean Connery has returned to play him.

Connery has a ball with great stunts, snappy dialogue and a bevy of typically Bondish beauties.

Assorted ladies, a few quick lines, and one good chase, making for a mediocre entry in the series.

The movie’s momentum is such that one never has much time to react to its lack of reason, only to its sensations of speed and narrow escape, and to the splendor of its crazy gadgets and dcor.

We see different movies for different reasons, and Diamonds Are Forever is great at doing the things we see a James Bond movie for.

It would be Connery’s final appearance in the official series, and he goes out in style.

Diamonds Are Forever might not be the greatest showcase for Connery’s talents, but it’s still an enjoyable outing in its own right, one that values humor over thrills.

This might be the last time for another several features that Bond actually feels like a secret agent.

Maybe I’m doing Diamonds a disservice. There are some fun moments and some silly moments that I can’t defend (like multiple Blofelds) but sadly I felt cheated (and still do) on what this film could have been.

How good it was to see the gadgets again, the gymnastic grace of the fantasy-violence, the comedy of the imaginary sex, and that quality of the Bond pictures at their best which I can only call geniality.

Plot
James Bond’s mission is to find out who has been smuggling diamonds, which are not re-appearing. He adopts another identity in the form of Peter Franks. He joins up with Tiffany Case, and acts as if he is smuggling the diamonds, but everyone is hungry for these diamonds. He also has to avoid Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, the dangerous couple who do not leave anyone in their way. Ernst Stavro Blofeld isn’t out of the question. He may have changed his looks, but is he linked with the heist? And if he is, can Bond finally defeat his ultimate enemy.
