    Yôjirô Takita is a Japanese film director known for his work in the film industry. He was born on December 4, 1955, in Japan. Takita began his career as an assistant director in the 1980s and later directed his first feature film, “Comic Magazine,” in 1986. He has since directed several critically acclaimed films, including “When the Last Sword Is Drawn” (2003), which won the Best Picture award at the Japan Academy Prize, and “Departures” (2008), which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Takita continues to work in the film industry and is considered one of Japan’s most prominent directors.
