    Well, let’s just say that Shôhei Imamura’s ROI is so low, it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack…if that haystack was made up of 1,999 other directors and he was at the bottom 1%. Sorry, Shôhei, looks like you’re on the F-List for now.
     

    Bio:

    Shôhei Imamura was a Japanese film director known for his realistic and often controversial portrayals of Japanese society. He was born in 1926 and began his career as an assistant director in the 1950s. Imamura’s films often explored themes of sexuality, violence, and social inequality, and he won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival twice, in 1983 for “The Ballad of Narayama” and in 1997 for “The Eel.” Imamura passed away in 2006 at the age of 79.
