    Bio:

    Joseph B. Vasquez was an American film director, writer, and producer. He was born on March 28, 1957, in New York City and grew up in the Bronx. Vasquez is best known for his independent film “Hangin’ with the Homeboys” (1991), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won critical acclaim. He also directed the films “Manhattan Merengue!” (1995) and “The Bronx War” (1994). Vasquez passed away on March 20, 1996, at the age of 38 due to complications from AIDS.
