    George A. Romero was an American filmmaker, writer, and editor, best known for his work in the horror genre. He was born on February 4, 1940, in New York City and passed away on July 16, 2017. Romero is considered the father of the modern zombie film, having directed and co-written the classic horror movie “Night of the Living Dead” in 1968. He went on to direct several other horror films, including “Dawn of the Dead,” “Day of the Dead,” and “Land of the Dead.” Romero’s films often explored social and political themes, and his work has had a significant impact on the horror genre.
