    François Girard is a Canadian film director and screenwriter. He was born on January 12, 1963, in Saint-Félicien, Quebec. Girard is best known for his films such as “Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould,” “The Red Violin,” and “Silk.” He has won several awards for his work, including the Academy Award for Best Original Score for “The Red Violin.” Girard is also a stage director and has directed operas such as “Parsifal” and “The Flying Dutchman.”
