Béla Tarr is a Hungarian film director known for his unique style of long takes and slow pacing. He has directed several critically acclaimed films, including “Werckmeister Harmonies” and “The Turin Horse.” Tarr often explores themes of existentialism and the human condition in his work. He frequently collaborates with his long-time cinematographer, Ágnes Hranitzky. Tarr retired from filmmaking in 2011.
