    Bio:

    Paul D. Zimmerman was an American film critic and journalist who wrote for Newsweek and New York magazine. He was known for his witty and insightful reviews of films, and was a major influence on the New Hollywood movement of the 1970s. He was also a screenwriter, having written the screenplay for the 1978 film The Deer Hunter. He died in 1998 at the age of 63.
