John Hughes was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on February 18, 1950, in Lansing, Michigan, and passed away on August 6, 2009, in New York City. Hughes is best known for his work on popular 1980s films such as “The Breakfast Club,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” and “Sixteen Candles.” He also wrote and produced the popular Christmas movie “Home Alone.” Hughes was known for his ability to capture the teenage experience in his films and was often referred to as the “voice of a generation.”
