Mangold began his career in the film industry in the early 1990s, directing and writing independent films such as Heavy and Cop Land. He gained wider recognition for his work on the biographical drama Walk the Line, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Mangold has also directed and co-written several other successful films, including 3:10 to Yuma, Knight and Day, and Logan. He is known for his ability to blend genres and create compelling character-driven stories.
