    Edmond O’Brien was an American actor who had a long and successful career in film and television. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Barefoot Contessa (1954). He was also known for his roles in films such as White Heat (1949), D.O.A. (1950), The Wild Bunch (1969), and The Great Santini (1979). O’Brien was also a prolific television actor, appearing in shows such as The Twilight Zone, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and The Wild Wild West. He died in 1985 at the age of 69.
